Advised and led a consortium named CALLS (Caverton, Afridev, Lamar, Lavayo Energy & Sepco 3) for a US$ 330 Million bid for Omoku power plant under Federal Government of Nigeria’s divestment of NIPP (Nigeria Independent Power Plants) from NDPHC (Niger Delta Power Holding Company)
Buy-side adviser for the acquisition of Associated Aviation Company Limited, a licensed air operator in Cargo, Private Charter and Commercial aviation and led the transformation and turnaround team with Mr Kayode Ayeni as Chief Executive Officer/Vice Chairman
Co-Promoter of the Gulf of Guinea Energy Fund, a US$ 250 Million fund focused on providing equity and debt capital to companies operating in the local content value chain to IOC’s and indigenous E&P companies. Successfully raised US$ 50 Million seed equity from OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corporation) of the USA for the fund
Pitched development of a multi-user deep-water port, railway and industrial zone in Guinea to service the bauxite mining industry to African Institutions on behalf of European developer
Adviser to the Developer of off-grid solar/hybrid power rollout in Kenya & Nigeria (Ongoing)
Advising the Sponsors of a number Mini-LNG Projects in Nigeria (including terminal development, storage and local distribution) (Ongoing)
In addition, Afridev’s senior team has experience performing similar roles and has led/advised on transactions such as;
Retained as the investment advisor to the Korean construction & investment firm as their emerging market infrastructure. Explored the development of a refinery in Gabon, a power project in Kazakhstan and Hospital project in Turkey
Advised the sponsors on the investment of US$ 100m into the Egyptian Refining Company (Cairo) – US$ 4.2bn project
Advised on the investment in 50% of award winning Tafila wind farm (from development stage). First commercial size renewable energy project in Jordan at 117MW
Advised the sponsors on the on the development and construction of a tyre recycling facility in Harare, Zimbabwe
Responsible for the Due Diligence and negotiations on a Pan-African satellite/telecoms system planned to HQ in Morocco
Advised Cape Town on their Olympic bid.
